Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The School of Nursing is now accepting applications for Clinical Instructor positions in the winter term of year 2024 which runs from January 8 – April 5, 2024.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising a group of BScN students who provide direct client care in clinical settings, work in a clinical skills and simulation lab or tutorial group setting. Tasks include but are not limited to lab demonstrations, marking and proctoring term tests and final examinations as well as evaluating assignments.

Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required.
Clinical Instructors will report to the instructor of record for their course and work under the protection of CUPE Collective Agreement 3912 – Dalhousie University. Document can be accessed via

(Med/Surg, Geriatric, or Peri-natal Nursing experience preferred)

SIMULATION LABS: Not to exceed 75 hrs

2-week CLINICAL: Not to exceed 100 hrs
(March 18 – 28, 2024 )

(Experience in Acute Care and/or on ICU preferred)

4 week-CLINICAL: Med/Surg placement (Not to exceed 180 hrs)
Option E: March 4 – 28, 2024

1 week-CLINICAL: MH placement (Not to exceed 52 hrs)
Option C: March 4 – 8, 2024
Option D: March 25 – 28, 2024

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, an active RN license with the NSCN, as well as two years of recent clinical experience is required. Clinical teaching experience (which may include preceptorship of staff or students) is essential.

For N5740, candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Nova Scotia.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
