Job Summary
Student Affairs is a collection of integrated units that collaborates with faculty, staff and students to enhance the student experience. We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of evidence-based student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Director, Student Success in the Bissett Student Success Centre, the Administrative Coordinator works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to carry out a wide range of administrative functions to support, primarily, the Bissett Student Success Centre’s the programs and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement all aspects of the student intake process, including referrals to and appointments with advisors and staff.
  • Receive and assess all inquiries to the Centre, independently evaluating the urgency of student issues, as well as appropriate assignment of requests based on Centre delivery model, maintaining strict confidentiality .
  • Responsible for logistical planning of Student Success meetings and events including meeting room bookings, catering requirements, ensure proper audio-visual requirements are met and tend to other requirements as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager, Student Success Advising and Director, Student Success.
  • Ensures the smooth and efficient running of the Bissett Student Success Centre, which includes preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, records management, and is the first point of contact for technology troubleshooting.
  • Assists in the development of the department budget and ensures spending remains within acceptable variances. Manage all account payables and receivables, reconcile monthly ledgers and follow up with any discrepancies.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications
  • Office/Business Admnistration program with three to five years’ experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Experience with administrative functions including financial processes, budget monitoring, office communications.
  • Experience in providing excellent client services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of our diverse student body, including knowledge, respect and sensitivity to social justice.
  • Experience in successfully coordinating and supporting administrative and operational processes, projects and events.
  • Proven proficiency with a variety of technological platforms.
Assets
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Experience in a post-secondary setting.
  • Experience with SARS Database Software.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Basic understanding of project management.
  • Understanding of Student Affairs and student development.
