The asynchronous material will be provided to the Part-time Academic by the Course Coordinator.<br><br></div><div>Each Part-Time Academic will be responsible for <strong>two</strong> <strong>synchronous in-person tutorial sections of COMM 1715</strong>. The Part-time Academic will be responsible for the following aspects of teaching and administering the class: conducting tutorials; marking quizzes, assignments, and student presentations in a timely manner and providing feedback; managing the course section website on Brightspace; and collaborating and communicating effectively and regularly with other instructors.<br><br></div><div>Tutorial guides, Brightspace page, instructor resources, and all course assignments and materials will be provided to the instructor by the course coordinator. The part-time instructor is not responsible for course planning and development.<br><br></div><div>The Part-time Academic should be available for two office hours per week. Students will be given the opportunity to gain knowledge in order to integrate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic concepts for a neonatal client population in their clinical setting and practicums. Students will gain therapeutic knowledge that includes the mechanism of actions, usual dosages, absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, and therapeutic use of medications in pregnant, neonatal and breastfeeding clients. Principles of management for side effects and drug interactions of medications frequently encountered by neonatal nurse practitioners will be reviewed and applied.
