About the opportunity
The School of Physiotherapy in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for Two part-time (0.5FTE) three-year limited term faculty positions at the Instructor rank commencing July 1, 2024.

The vision of the School of Physiotherapy is to lead regionally, nationally and internationally in collaborative, inclusive physiotherapy education, research, and service that advance health, policy, and practice.

Key Responsibilities
· Assists with lab coordination and organization in Musculoskeletal Health (PHYT 5115, 5215 and 6115) Neurotherapeutics (PHYT 6107), Cardiorespiratory (PHYT 5114, 5214) and Integrated Practice (PHYT 6118, 6218) courses, as required.
· Assist with teaching responsibilities, as required.
· Assists with the development and administration of Objective Structured Clinical Evaluations and simulation activities.
· Prepare and/or oversee preparation of the simulation laboratory schedule for each semester in collaboration with course Instructors of Record and facilitate curricular/scheduling resolution.
· Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet course and clinical objectives.
· Contribute to administrative duties in the School of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health, and other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
· Entry-to-Practice degree in Physiotherapy
· Master’s degree (or equivalent) in addition to the Entry-to-Practice degree in Physiotherapy
· Eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy or Licensure in progress at the time of accepting the position.
· Demonstrated expertise in physiotherapy clinical practice and education.
· Demonstrated expertise in the Entry-to-Practice Physiotherapy curriculum including knowledge, clinical skills, and professional behaviours.
· Demonstrated experience in integrated physiotherapy education across key pillars of the MScPT program, including Musculoskeletal, Neurotherapeutics and Cardiorespiratory areas of study.
· A minimum of two years of experience in clinical instruction of physiotherapy students.
· Demonstrated exceptional time management skills.
· Highly developed level of organizational and prioritization skills.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Leadership skills and the ability to take initiative to learn, be flexible, work independently, and work effectively in collaborative teaching teams.
· Demonstrated passion and commitment to teaching and student learning, grounded on principles of Universal Design for Learning and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive, equitable learning and working environment.

Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with accreditation requirements.
· Willingness to establish/maintain involvement in professional activities.
