About the opportunity
The School of Physiotherapy in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a part-time three-year limited term faculty position at the Instructor rank commencing July 1, 2024.

Key Responsibilities
· Instructor of Record for Musculoskeletal Health in two of the following: PHYT 5115 (3 credit hours), PHYT 5215 (6 credit hours) and/or PHYT 6115 (3 credit hours) and all required elements of course management including:
• Course planning and delivery
• Student and course evaluation
• Human resource management, in collaboration with the Director and Administrative Manager
· Work in collaboration with the Musculoskeletal Health Lead in the School of Physiotherapy.
· Contribute to the School of Physiotherapy Curriculum Committee
· Contribute to scholarly and administrative duties in the School of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health and other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

· Entry-to-Practice degree in Physiotherapy
· Master’s degree (or equivalent) in addition to the Entry-to-Practice degree in Physiotherapy
· Eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy or Licensure in progress at the time of accepting the position.
· Demonstrated ability to teach the Entry-to-Practice Physiotherapy curriculum including knowledge, clinical skills, and professional behaviours.
· Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to teach musculoskeletal health and rehabilitation.
· A minimum of two years of experience in clinical instruction of physiotherapy students.
· Experience as an MScPT course Instructor of Record.
· Demonstrated ability to develop courses; coordinate and lead labs; use simulation techniques; and coordinate and implement student evaluations including Objective Structured Clinical Evaluations.
· Demonstrated exceptional time management and course preparation skills.
· Highly developed level of organizational and prioritization skills.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Leadership skills and the ability to take initiative, be flexible, work independently, and work effectively in collaborative teaching teams.
· Demonstrated passion and commitment to teaching and student learning founded on principles of Universal Design for Learning and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
· Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive, equitable learning and working environment.


Preferred Qualifications
· PhD or EdD or relevant advanced research experience in physiotherapy education or practice.
· Familiarity with accreditation requirements.
· Willingness to establish/maintain involvement in professional activities.
