Job Summary
The Faculty of Medicine inspires and enables excellence in health care through its medical education and research programs, and by serving and engaging society. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Physician Assistant Coordinator will be an integral member of Masters of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program in the delivery of the PA program, where they are responsible for administering and coordinating the Year 1 curriculum and student assessment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior MPAS faculty and staff to coordinate the development of the Year 1 units including Skilled Clinician and distribute program evaluation tools using online tools.
  • Develop schedule and ensure compliance of it to template. Ensure integration of units and resolve conflicts in Year 1 schedules. Maintain changes and edits electronically.
  • Create individual schedules for students on a flex schedule as well as facilitate and arrange schedules of individual students that take leaves of absence and those requiring remediation.
  • Develop draft and revise examinations in consultation with Unit Heads including deferral and supplemental examinations using exam database.
  • Advise the Senior Administrator/Manager on areas concerning the management of the evaluation information and/or improvements to the evaluation system.
  • Assists in the implementation of new processes and procedures, and keeping up with electronic trends, such as scheduling and the use of electronic resources in medical education.

Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Business/office administration program plus approximately five years’ progressively responsible and related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and database systems.
Assets
  • Experience in a university or health professional education environment, and knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environments.
  • Knowledge of One45, Brightspace and/or Sharepoint.
